KONFERENCJA ŻUBROWA!
W dniach 4-5 września 2014 r. w Centralnym Ośrodku Sportu – Ośrodku Przygotowań Olimpijskich w Wałczu, w ramach projektu „Zabezpieczenie populacji żubrów w północno-zachodniej Polsce przed presją turystyczną”, odbyła się XII międzynarodowa konferencja „Żubry w Bioregionie Mirosławiec” . Jej organizatorem było Stowarzyszenie Miłośników Żubrów, a gospodarzem – gmina Mirosławiec powiat Wałcz. Głównym powodem umiejscowienia tej konferencji w powiecie wałeckim była 34. rocznica utworzenia wolnego stada żubrów w tym regionie. Według programu konferencji, 4 września odbyły się obrady w sali konferencyjnej w COS.
Natomiast 5 września wszyscy uczestnicy odwiedzili Dziką Zagrodę w Jabłonowie, a następnie wrócili na kolejną część obrad do Wałcza.
Po konferencji, czyli 6 września, grupa jej uczestników wyruszyła na wycieczkę do Prätenow na wyspie Uznam. W 2004 roku utworzono tam Zagrodę Żubrów (Wisentgeheden), a pierwszymi żubrami w zagrodzie były cztery osobniki ze stada Wolińskiego Parku Narodowego.
